College Prep

Preparing our students to graduate high school and continue their education at a university is one of the highest priorities of Southmont high school.

  • Over $1 million in scholarships are awarded each year to Southmont’s graduating seniors.
  • Southmont has above a 98% graduation rate, with 63% of students pursuing post-secondary education.
  • Southmont is home to 20 AP/Dual Credit Classes that help students gain an important head start in their core college curriculums. Dual Credit opportunities can be earned through Indiana University, Purdue University, Vincennes University and Ivy Tech Community College.
  • All sophomores and juniors take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) to help them better prepare for the SAT. The SAT is required by many colleges and universities to be considered for acceptance.
